Idea of India

Some say look at the Gulf arab countries,they are all muslim majority states and they have declared Islam as their State religion.
Hence India should be declared as "HINDU RASHTRA" as Hindus are in majority here in India.
But is it not naive to dream about such a nation state. If Hinduism is made the state religion of the country. Will the "Hindus" accept that as one. Then  which law will be implemented to govern the social,individual & family life of person.
Someone  stand up & might say manusmriti?
